The torch relay for the Beijing Winter Olympic Games has started in a closed loop


The torch relay was held in the south Park of The Olympic Forest Park in Beijing at 10:30 am on February 4.Torchbearers from various countries of the Olympic family hold the torch, passing the flame of the Olympic flame, which symbolizes light, unity, peace and friendship, to the central axis of the first “Double Olympic City” in the history of the Olympic Games, conveying to the world the Olympic spirit that only unity can be faster, higher and stronger.The torchbearers during the closed-loop relay included International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach, BAN Ki-moon, eighth SECRETARY-GENERAL of the United Nations and Chairman of the IOC Ethics Commission, PRESIDENT of the United Nations General Assembly Abdullah Shahid, IOC Vice President Yu Zaiqing,Zhang Hong, China’s first speed skating Olympic champion, member of the IOC Athletes’ Commission and other members from the “Olympic family”.Other international friends, including WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, pole vault world record holder Yelena Isinbayeva, who is also a member of the International Olympic Committee, and former South Korean table tennis star Yoo Seung-min, are also torchbearers inside the closed loop.Today, there are 46 torch relay legs in the closed loop, covering a distance of 5.1km.
