Report from our correspondent on February 15, the reporter learns from the Ministry of Commerce, China’s commerce minister wen-tao wang with the New Zealand minister of trade and export growth o ‘connor in recently held a video talks, the two sides announced that have been completed in China – New Zealand free trade agreement to upgrade protocol of domestic approval procedures, the upgrade protocol will come into effect on April 7.It is reported that the two sides agreed to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and New Zealand in 2022 as an opportunity to implement the Upgrade Protocol with high quality, further promote bilateral trade and investment exchanges, jointly push bilateral economic and trade relations to a higher level, and constantly enrich the connotation of the comprehensive strategic partnership.The China-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement was signed on April 7, 2008 and implemented on October 1, 2008.The two sides launched negotiations on upgrading the FTA in November 2016 and formally signed the Protocol on Upgrading the FTA on January 26, 2021.(Yao Zong) (Source: International Business Daily)
